Unfortunately J70 sailboats are in very high demand in the Seattle area. And probably for the next 5 years. You’ll most likely find available J70 boats outside of the Seattle area.
Currently there are at least 4 sailors based in Seattle with cash-in-hand looking to purchase a J70 right now.
A J70 ready to race with good running and standing rigging, a Vakaros Atlas 2, sails less than 3 years old, electric outboard and a trailer can easily range between $40k to $65k. There are bargains available but buyer beware as refurbishment up to "race-ready" can be costly. Watch out for osmotic blisters or road rash in the underwater portion of the hull or keel. And also look for damage in the hull trunk area where the keel is attached.
Transportation costs can significantly add to the purchase price. A recent J70 purchase in January of 2025 required transportation from St Petersburg, FL to Seattle and cost $4,200. A 2023 quote from Key Yachting to package and transport via seagoing containership was approximately $7,300 to ship a J70 from Southampton, UK to Seattle.

Another option is to reach out to the J70 class regional fleet contacts in your area. https://j70class.com/class-office/fleet-contacts/ These fleet captains are well aware of their various fleets and may have insight into boats that are for sale but not publicly listed at a broker.
