Total Transit time = 2 hours 15 minutes (2.25 hours)
Total time outboard power in use was 2 hours. Battery SOC = 42%. (Total Consumed 34.8 Ah or 1782 Wh).
Per hour average for trip = 34.8Ah/2 = 17.4 Amps, 1782Wh/2 = 891 Watts. Maximum current draw = 19.5 amps at 51.2 Vdc = WOT @ 999 Watts.
See pics below for location and battery SOC at beginning and end.
Remaining Battery SOC capacity to 90% discharge: SOC 42% -10% = 32%. 0.32*60Ah = 19.2Ah (983 Wh). Or about a full hour at WOT. Enough for a round trip to the North course racing circle.
Time to fully recharge the battery from 42% to 100% SOC was measured at 4.3 hours using a 500 watt charger. (Meanwell HEP-600C-48)
The mast height of the J70 above the waterline is 10.00 m (32’ 10”) not including masthead instruments. Assume it is at least 34 feet. It may be higher if you have tall windvane or other equipment at the top of the mast. The Fremont bridge has a published clearance of only 30 ft.
The Fremont bridge is closed to boat traffic on weekdays from 7 to 9 am and 4 to 6 pm.
When requesting a bridge opening from 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM vessels should use a horn signal - one long blast, one short blast. From 11PM to 7AM, the request to open the bridge may be made by calling 206-386-4251 at least 1 hour in advance.
Locally referred to as the "Ballard Locks".
The locks and associated facilities move boats from the water level of the lakes to the water level of Puget Sound, and vice versa.
The complex includes two locks, a small lock and a large lock. The complex also includes a spillway with gates to assist in water-level control.
Click on Link above to help you conquer the locks and maintain your sanity.
Going into the marina, watch depth sounder display, keep the red buoys on your right (starboard) and the green buoys on your left (port).
At the marina, navigate to the Fuel/Guest dock at pier “H”. If space is available, tie the boat up on the leward side of the pier. Use any available space along the entire “H” pier that doesn’t have a “reserved” sign on it.
See magenta line on map below for the suggested route.
