List of running rigging lines as supplied with a new boat.
NOTE! This list is for reference only! Only the boat owner is responsible for the appropriate line selection, exact cut lengths and sizes required on your boat. Use at your own risk.
Carefully measure the lines on your boat as considerable size and length differences may exist depending on your boat configuration and modifications. In many cases, the actual lines on the boat are slightly longer to the preferences of the crew and skipper.
The J/70 Speedster (22.75 feet) is J/Boats' first ramp-launchable, keelboat - designed to fulfill the need for an easy-to-own, high performance one-design that's exciting to sail, stable enough for the entire family, AND easy to tow, rig, launch and sail. Since its introduction in 2012, the J/70 has become the most prolific sportboat in the world with 1800+ boats sailing in 30+ countries. It all started with a boat that's a BLAST to sail!
Principal attributes:
Very fast down wind and can plane in the right conditions.
It can be sailed short handed.
The keel is just heavy enough for good stability but light enough to rapidly accelerate.
It’s a very high performance boat, but also a boat that all can sail because you don’t have to be super strong. But is a very challenging boat to sail well.
Relatively inexpensive to buy used — $25,000-$45,000 typically. And they should hold their value quite well.
