See below for the step-by-step process to update the firmware.
Step 1 - Turn on your vakaros Atlas 2 instrument.

Press the button on the upper right tip edge.
You may have to hold it pressed for a second or two.
It will be beep and the display should initially show a QR code. Do not share this QR code as it includes your instrument serial number. And is how the Race Committee will assign your Atlas 2 to a specific class on race night.
Step 2 - Open the Vakaros App on your phone

If you don't have the app yet, get in the app store.
You'll need to install it and then create an account.
NOTICE! You must have the latest app version on your phone to update Atlas2 to the latest firmware version. If you can't firmware update the Atlas 2, check the app version on your phone. If all else fails, try the app option to manually update the Atlas 2.
NOTE - all of the following screens are ONLY VISIBLE when the Atlas 2 is successfully connected and communicating with your phone. If you can't connect, ask your grand kids to fix it. :-)
Step 3 - navigate to devices and select your instrument.

Navigate the screens by selecting the icons at the bottom of the screen. In this case, press on the "Devices" icon.
Then select your boat name/profile at the top of the screen by tapping on it.
If you only have one Atlas 2, it will be the only choice.
Note- you can also update it thru the "boats" screen but is quite busy and hard to follow. Expect to do a lot of scrolling up and down to find the orange "Update Available" bar.
Step 4 - Look for the the orange "Update Available" bar

Press or tap the orange "Update Available" download the update to the phone.

Press or tap the black "Let's Do This" bar to begin the firmware update.
Please make sure the Atlas 2 is powered up. And do not close the app or do anything else with your phone while the transfer is progress.
At this point, you have done all of the heavy lifting. Crack a beer or tell another tall tale about your time driving a TP52 at the last Swiftsure or Round-The-County race.
It is normal for the Atlas 2 to beep, vibrate, turn OFF and ON again. If you listen closely, you'll also hear it swear like an inebriated Portuguese sailor.
Check back in 5 to 10 minutes.
